Synopsis of TEFL Heaven Volunteer Teaching Projects (VTP)
Experience teaching in Thailand this summer through the TEFL Heaven Volunteer Teaching Project (VTP) and spend a rewarding *6 week experience in Thailand teaching English. Embrace the country they call the ‘Land of Smiles’!
You will be met by members of our team as soon as you land in Bangkok and then swept off for 9 nights to a paradise location in Thailand, which includes 5 full days TEFL training (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Once completed, you will receive a 30 hour TEFL Certificate. Following the TEFL training you will travel to a location in Thailand to stay with Thai host families and begin a 4 week teaching placement and adventure! We have links with schools all around Thailand so your teaching placement could be anywhere in the country.
During your 9 days in the paradise location you will get plenty of opportunity to engage in a variety of social activities during which we guarantee you will make friends for life (FFL) and will wear a constant smile on your face!
When in placement, you will be working Monday to Friday, teaching between 2 to 5 hours per day (around 10 - 20 hours per week) you will have a good balance of work and time to explore the local area and take part in activities. Weekends are free to meet with other volunteers and there is a lot to do and explore in Thailand! Your Thai host family might also have some activities in store for you as well optional activities organised by the TEFL Heaven team.
All main transport (from Bangkok airport to Bangkok hostels to TEFL training paradise to host families) is provided, and all accommodation for the entire 6 week program is also provided. On top of this, when you are in your placement you will receive 3 meals a day - that's 4 weeks of food! The only other costs you need to think about is spending money for activities, visa costs, food for the TEFL training and your flights!
Integrate into the local community and into a very different culture by staying with a traditional Thai family. Experience real Thai cuisine and eat local food for free with your Thai hosts and experience the real Thailand!
No teaching experience is necessary! No degree is needed! All that you need is to be a confident character and have plenty of energy, with a desire to make a difference!
*You can stay longer than 6 weeks if you wish to travel and explore independently after our supported program - it's up to you!
What's included?
Airport pickup and transfers within Thailand
A few days before the start date of the course you should arrive in Bangkok. From here, one of our team will greet you with happy smiley faces and take you to temporary accommodation. We will also pay for and take you to the training venue and to your host families.
