What's Included in TEFL Internships?
Full TEFL Certification is provided which will enable you to teach English anywhere in the world!
A teaching salary of 30,000 THB per month is provided (around £630 GBP) which is more than enough money to live in Thailand, which has extremely low living costs. Average Thai salary is roughly between 6,000 THB and 10,000 THB to give you some indication of living costs. You probably won’t be able to save much to take back home with you but you will be able to live comfortably and have enough money to enjoy yourself.
Training on a paradise island or beach is included, but free Thai massages are not. There are plenty massages available though, should you choose to have one at around 300 THB per hour (£5 GBP).
Accommodation is included for the 3 weeks of the TEFL course. You will most likely be sharing a room. We don't cover any nightly stays outside of the time where training. When in placement you will be given assistance in finding accommodation, and it will cost you approximately 4,000 THB each month for rent and around 1,000 THB for other bills.
Your accommodation in your teaching placement will most likely be a one room Thai–style studio apartment or a house (depending on if you are sharing) and will be quite basic: double bed, shower, Thai-style toilet, fan or air con. You would not normally have a TV, fridge or cooking facilities. Thai’s eat out for nearly every meal and the cost of living is extremely low, with street vendors nearly everywhere, so not having a cooker should not be a problem for you. We would also hope that you would prefer to be sociable rather than stay in and ‘watch the telly’ but if you do want any of these things it might be possible to find them for you.
Airport meeting is provided so you never have to worry about getting lost! Please note we will meet you at the airport but we will not pay for transport to your accommodation.
The Thai working visa is needed before we can process your work permits. You will have to meet the cost of this visa in your home country before you arrive, which currently is £100 GBP in the UK for a multiple entry and £45 for a single entry. You will need a letter of employment in order to get the visa and we will provide this for you.
A network of fellow trainees will accompany you on the TEFL course and will be around you at your teaching placement. Most of the people we recruit are very outgoing – you have to be to be a TEFL teacher!
An orientation in Thai language and culture is also provided, so you can try and get by on your own. You will need to know the numbers (so you don’t get ripped off) and how to get about in Thai. You will also need to know the dos and don’ts of Thai culture. We want you fully supported and prepared!
Social events will be organised from time to time and you are welcome to get on board and come exploring with us all!
Other things that may not be physically included are of a more intrinsic nature. This is an experience of a lifetime, and many of our trainees gain a lifetime of experience in just one trip. This will be an experience you will never forget and you will want to make sure you capture the moment on camera. We suggest you bring a very big memory card, or a laptop to store your photo’s on.
