Buenos Aires TEFL Program Summary
This TEFL program begins with 4 weeks face-to-face TEFL training and certification in Buenos Aires, one of the world’s most famous cities, and is followed by a guaranteed paid teaching job for native English speakers (no bachelor's degree required), which could be anywhere in Argentina!
With it’s European architecture, the tango, and arguably the best steak in the world, there are few better places to complete your TEFL training. After the TEFL training is complete you will receive your TEFL certificate, qualifying you to teach English anywhere in the world. Language centers offer most teaching jobs, so you will teach all different age groups as well as private individuals and perhaps business clients.
Taking this TEFL course in Buenos Aires gave me a purpose to be here and I love it. I have a reason to wake up and something I need to complete every day and that is a great feeling. I have only been out of the course for a week and already have several job offers and interviews.

Key Program Details
‘Levantarse a alguien’ or ‘to pick someone up’ - the phrase encapsulates Argentina! A place where you cannot fail to be lifted up by the friendly spirit of the natives. Mostly famous for steak, wine and the Tango dance, yet there is a depth and richness to the country that has a modern history as fascinating as its diverse landscapes and elegant architecture.
Buenos Aires is overflowing with bars and restaurants to recline in after a days TEFL training with your new found friends. The city offers easy transport, access to a wide variety of activities, and is the central hub of employment for teaching English in Argentina. This is a place that will make you smile! And of course a great place to become fluent in Spanish.
This program consists of 4 weeks TEFL training, which will be a mixture of daytime study and some evening work and assignments. TEFL trainers will make sure you have everything you need to become a confident teacher of English (TEFL) in Argentina.
Once qualified, the world is yours and you can use your TEFL certificate in other countries - there is no expiry date to the TEFL certificate. The TEFL certificate is externally accredited and accepted worldwide.
After gaining skills, making friends in this period is what it is all about. Spending so much time each day around the same people who are in the same situation means friendships solidify quickly. Everyone wants to support each other. It's one of the great benefits of starting your journey teaching abroad in this way.
During the TEFL training period, we give you all the tools, resources and contacts you need to secure a paid teaching job. Most jobs are secured within a few weeks after the course, and sometimes even shorter than that. A great benefit is to have our experienced in-country TEFL team at your disposal recommending good places to work, and where to avoid applying for jobs.
In Argentina, most teaching jobs are in language centers, so typically you will be teaching adults, with some younger classes, depending on the employer. It's also common to travel to corporate locations and teach company staff English, as well as have private students to tutor.
Contract lengths are for around 6 months or more. Salaries vary, but are around the equivalent of 800 - 1200 US dollars per month, which is about how much it costs for living costs but there is a chance to save some money if you budget well. For a clearer idea of costs, one of our teachers, Kellane, wrote an Argentina Salary vs. Livings Costs Guide for you.
Anyone can come on this course and teach English in Argentina. In terms of the job placement services, through our experience we know those who are native English speaking secure jobs within 30 days after the end of the training - and in most cases this is shorter.
Those who are not native English speaking can also attend this course and for job placement we advise them to be as flexible as possible as to salary and location. Native English speaking teachers are preferred in Argentina, but many employers will accept non-native English speakers as long as they are fluent in English. Non-native English speakers may have to wait a little longer to get a job in their desired location.
There is no requirement to hold a bachelors degree for this program. See more about eligibility on this page.
Accommodation costs during training are around 800 USD for 4 weeks. You have the option of living with home stay family or shared apartment for the duration of the course. Our home stay families are carefully vetted, meaning you don't need to worry about who you stay with.
Staying with an Argentinian family is a great way to immerse yourself in Argentine culture – especially if you want to improve your Spanish.
After training and when you are in your teaching job, accommodation is much cheaper, at around 450 USD for a shared apartment. Doing the course with others helps you to make friends and it's common to share accommodation with those friends afterwards when you start your teaching jobs.
Start dates for this TEFL Program are generally every two months, and places fill up fast. We suggest you apply early in order to get your desired start date.
