PRAGUE & PAID JOB CZECH REPUBLIC

-FEATURES & BENEFITS –

FULL TEFL CERTIFICATION

The TEFL course in Prague consists of 4 weeks TEFL training, 130 contracted hours and 8-10 hours of teaching practice. Once completed you gain a TEFL Certificate, meaning afterwards you are qualified to teach English anywhere in the world.

It is a great way to see the world and earn at the same time.

ACCOMMODATION FOR THE 4 WEEKS OF THE TEFL TRAINING

Accommodation assistance is given for the 4 weeks of the TEFL training. If you choose our recommended accommodation, it is situated in the city centre and close to the training centre. A shared apartment with a single room is around 350 Euros for 30 days and includes wireless internet.

Should you choose to find your own accommodation then that is fine as well, as long as you make it on time to class every day. Wherever you stay, you will enjoy the architecture, night-life and atmosphere of this great city.

A GUARANTEED PAID JOB TEACHING ENGLISH

Most teaching placements are with private language centres and so you will be teaching all age ranges from children to adult, but mostly adult classes or individuals. Sometimes you might travel to a private appointment at a business or stay at the language centre for a group class – it really does vary.

You will normally be paid by the hour and you can expect to earn 800 – 1300 USD per month. Living costs are around 800 USD per month. The more hours you do, the more money you can make and many teachers commonly find private work as well as their normal job, which pays a lot more than group classes and gives them that extra boost to save a bit more.

NOTE FOR NON-EU NATIONALITIES:

If you are a member of the EU, there is no need for a visa. For those not EU citizens, you will need to apply for a visa after 3 months of being in-country. For this visa you need to do two short trips to a Czech embassy outside of the Czech Republic, and show 5600 Euros or equivalent in a bank account in your name. It also has to be a Czech bank in Czech crowns. You also can have someone deposit into your account for the purpose of the visa, and then send the money back one week later.

TRAIN WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

It is important to make friends who can support you during your time in the country and who can make your time there much more worthwhile. There will be another 7 or so other trainees on your TEFL course, and so it is easy to make friends.

Prague has an amazing night-life and so it’s easy to unwind and relax after classes have finished for the week. Many of the people you train with will stay friends long after training and long after teaching English in Prague has finished.

LOW-COST OF LIVING

Prague is one of the most popular destinations to teach English in Europe because of its inviting culture, safe city environment and low-cost of living. Apartment rentals, transportation and food are at a low-cost.  You can normally save a little each month with your salary and should you find private students your spending can obviously increase as well.

There are other ways to save more money as well – living with a friend can cut your accommodation costs in half as well as your bills, and not eating out at restaurants as much will obviously mean less spending as well. The lure of Prague’s night-life and the social scene does make it hard though, and you might find yourself out every weekend enjoying getting to know Prague and the locals!
